Famous Photographer Presentation (Pictures are Worth 1,000 words):




Directions: For this presentation, you will work in teams of 2 students. Each student will research famous photographers. The photographers are Richard Avedon (famous black and white portrait photographer) and Ansel Adams (famous blacks and white landscape photographer).  Each student in the group will write a 250 word *reflection* on ONE picture from EACH photographer (each student will write 500 words total between the two photographs and each group will have a presentation with 4 photos and 1,000 words total).


*Reflection*: a reflection is a write up on what you see in the photo (the process of taking the photo) NOT what you know about the photo (the story behind what is happening in the photo)A reflection includes: Framing (composition, the objects/subjects in the photo), Exposure (lighting, exposure settings), Focus (depth of field, focal length)




1) Pick your teammate

2) Each member of the team will choose 1 photo from Richard Avedon and 1 photo from Ansel Adams.

3) Put the 4 combined photos into 1 shared team Powerpoint.

4) Write 250 + words about your selected Avedon and Adams photos in Microsoft Word.

5) Be prepared to present Powerpoint.
